July 8, 2009: Full paper submission deadline extended to July 20, 2009. See Important Dates for details.
August 13, 2009: We are experiencing problems in connection with the submission of short papers and are currently working towards finding a solution. The deadline for the submission of short papers has therefore been extended to August 25, 2009. If you experienced problems with submitting a short paper, please try again close to the new deadline.
August 16, 2009: Submission for short papers is open again until the deadline of August 25, 2009.
September 14, 2009: Notifications of acceptance of full papers are currently being sent. The notifications to authors of short papers will be sent on September 18, 2009.
October 5, 2009: Website contains advance program with all accepted papers. On-line registration is open.
October 12, 2009: Website updated and re-structured with the detailed workshop program.
October 19, 2009: Deadline for poster submission extended to November 9, 2009.
November 9, 2009: Early registration extended to November 25, 2009.
November 10, 2009: IFIP and ETH Zurich sponsor a best paper and a best presentation award.
November 12, 2009: The confirmation deadline for pre-booked hotel rooms is extended to November 25, 2009.

IWSOS 2009 is a workshop sponsored by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), WG 6.2 and WG 6.7
IWSOS 2009, the Fourth International Workshop on Self-Organizing Systems, will be held in Zurich, Switzerland, December 9-11 2009. Building on the success of previous workshops in this series held in Passau (September 2006), Lancaster (September 2007), and Vienna (December 2008), IWSOS 2009 aims to provide a visionary forum for self-organization in networks and networked systems.

The venue for IWSOS 2009 will be the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich). The workshop is organized by the Communication Systems Group.

Accepted papers will be published in the Workshop Proceedings by publishers in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series (also available through Springer's digital library, LNCS Online).
